Today, I saw Iron Man 3 and gosh, was it awesome!!! I have to admit that even though I read comic books and I love Marvel, I was never an avid Iron Man reader. Maybe, that contributes to my positive reaction to the movie? I mean, I don't study film so I can't say I always appreciate and understand the choices filmmakers make when doing film adaptations of books. I've always been one of those book snobs who nit-pick and whine about changes they make in film adaptations. :p
Anyway, since I'm no Iron Man expert, I had no idea about what was supposed to happen and I got to appreciate Iron Man 3 for what it is-- a kick-ass superhero movie from the Marvel film franchise.
In my opinion, Iron Man 3 trumps its predecessors. While I did like the first two Iron Man movies, I don't remember coming out of theater absolutely excited and satisfied when I watched the first two. This third (and last?) installment was funny and engaging with its witty dialogue and some adorable miscellaneous characters (Adam Pally, aka Max Blum from Happy Endings, had a little scene! A pleasant surprise for me and my guy who are fans of the comedy series.), of course, Tony Stark's work with technology was as impressive and jaw-dropping as his action stunts. It was also really cool how this movie connected with the Avengers movie (wormhole and the New Year incident references were made). And now, I'm thinking how Marvel will make a second Avengers movie that will trump this. Looking forward to that. :)
Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) had some pretty exciting things going on for her on this movie but I'm not going to delve into that. What I will talk about is her hair! Haha!
Honestly, I am not a huge fan of Gwyneth Paltrow's usual hairstyle. She never really changes it up! Her hair is always flat and extremely straight, parted in the middle, and just hanging there-- too severe for my taste! In the Iron Man movies, Gwyneth went redhead, had bangs, and added volume to her hair! Doesn't she look great? :) She looks younger, fresher, prettier! I love how the bangs frame her face and the added fluff to her hair makes her look more natural and really feminine. Gwyneth should stick to this look! Someone needs to tell the girl her usual pin-straight hairstyle needs to be retired! Her Popper Potts hair works better for her, imo.
